Lads 2 Leaders

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
– Proverbs 22:6

Lads 2 Leaders Focuses on teaching students
to do Bible things in Bible ways
This year’s theme:   I Am Not Ashamed – Romans 1:16
Bible Bowl Book for 2024:  Romans
Debate Topic for 2024:  “Resolved:  The use of instrumental music in the worship of God by His church is not authorized by His word.”
There are three categories of events:  Year round, Pre-convention, and Convention.  The convention that West Metro attends is held in Atlanta during the Easter weekend.
Year round and Pre-Convention Events
  • 25 out of 43 events are either year-round or preconvention events, meaning they are done at home, at church, etc.
  • What this also means is that the work can be started anytime after the previous year’s convention has ended and then must be finished by the close of registration (beginning of February).
  • These events include year-round song leading, year-round speech, providers and keepers, Bible bowl individual test, Pearls test, etc.
  • We encourage all who participate to work on these events throughout the year and use any and all opportunities to complete the necessary requirements.

Convention Events

2023 was the first year West Metro participated in Lads to Leaders.  Participation included song leading, speech, puppet theatre, art, scripture reading, and Bible bowl among several others.  Many of our youth received awards and recognitions so that made it extra exciting!  We look forward to all the possibilities that are provided through participating again.

The efforts of parents and congregation volunteers created a strong, supportive atmosphere for our youth to learn and succeed on their own paths within God’s kingdom.  If you have questions about getting involved please contact Austin Gray.
