Keith Lawson

Keith and Janet Lawson are both from Florence, Alabama where they grew up and were married in 1985. They met in 1981 just prior to starting college and are both graduates of the University of North Alabama.  After graduation, Keith was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the US Army and assigned to Fort Gordon, Georgia.  Keith and Janet attended the Richmond Hill Road Church of Christ while living in Augusta.  From there they moved to Lawton, Oklahoma where Keith served as a Signal Officer at Fort Sill.  They were members of Northwest Church of Christ during their time in Oklahoma.  After leaving active military service, Keith and his family relocated to Richmond, Virginia where they lived for six years and attended Hermitage Road Church of Christ.  In 1995, the Lawson family moved to Georgia and made it their home.  They have worshiped at West Metro since 2005.

Keith has been employed by AT&T for twenty-one years.  In addition to working for AT&T, Keith served in the US Army Reserve for nineteen years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.  In their free time, Keith and Janet enjoy traveling, gardening, and spending time with family.  When time allows, Keith enjoys riding one of his many bicycles along the Silver Comet Trail.

Keith and Janet have two daughters, two sons-in-law, and two grandchildren. Ashleigh, their oldest daughter, is married to Brad Lister and they are members at West Metro. Their youngest daughter, Kayla, is married to Zach Van Buren. They live in Columbus, Georgia and are members of the Chattahoochee Valley Church of Christ.

Keith’s vision for West Metro is a Church committed to God and His Word, deeply rooted in the community, teaching and serving others while providing a place for families to be cared for both physically and spiritually.
